Venezuela cuts debt to Rosneft 32.6% Jan–Sep to $3.1 bln

MOSCOW, Nov 6 (PRIME) -- Venezuela redeemed U.S. $1.5 billion debt for the prepayments received from Russian oil major Rosneft in January–September, and now has $3.1 billion of outstanding debt, according to a Rosneft’s report released on Tuesday.

The amount does not include interest.

In March, Didier Casimiro, Rosneft’s Vice President for Refining, Petrochemical, Commerce and Logistics, said that the company had issued $6.5 billion of advanced payments for oil deliveries to Venezuela’s national oil producer PDVSA.

The deliveries are to be completed until the end of 2020.
